Preview of “Acasă :: the film”

After a summer without festivals, we missed events so much that it was impossible to refuse the invitation to cook outdoors for a unique launch of a story full of emotions Acasă :: the film

Where is "Home" for you? We arrived "Home" in the Văcărești Delta, where everything was packed with an incredible vibe, and where we met beautiful people, good thoughts, and so, so many emotions! 😍🤩 Everything was specially prepared for the preview of the most awarded Romanian documentary of 2020, right in the place where the story began 📽👀

"Acasă", this year's most awarded Romanian documentary, which tells the story of a family that lived for 18 years in the midst of nature in the Văcărești Delta, begins its theatrical run on September 18.

The debut documentary by Radu Ciorniciuc, filmed over four years, follows the grand adventure experienced by the Enache family, transitioning from a life in complete harmony with nature to a challenging life in the great urban jungle.

The film is built around the dramas of a family and, keeping things in perspective, around one of modern man's greatest dilemmas: to return to nature, where life is free but full of hardships without the benefits of civilization, or to be part of a society that offers the opportunity for a comfortable life only to those willing to embrace the pressures and compromises that come with the generally accepted definition of civilization", says director Radu Ciorniciuc.

"Acasă" is part of the official selection of the European Film Academy (EFA) Awards, in the documentary section. Throughout this year, it has received numerous important international awards: the Special Jury Award for Cinematography in the World Cinema Documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival, the Grand Prize at DOK.fest Munich (VIKTOR Main Competition), the Special Jury Award at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, the Grand Prize (Golden Horn for Best Director) at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Human Rights Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival , and the Moral Approach Award at the MakeDox Documentary Film Festival (Macedonia). The national premiere of the film took place at the Transilvania International Film Festival, where it won the Romanian Film Days Award for Best Feature Film.

If you are curious to find out more details about the film, you can check the official website  http://proiectulacasa.ro or even see it in theaters starting September 18, or on HBO Go from October 15.
